Joined A-Power, a sister company of Zeitecs, in 2009. He has taken on the role of managing the design, development, and manufacturing of alternative drive systems and power electronics for use in the oil and gas industry. He received his Diploma and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Aachen University. He was research associate from 2001 to 2006 at the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) in Aachen with a research focus on the design of switched reluctance machines and drive converters for various propulsion systems. From 2007 to 2009, he was Chief Engineer at ISEA being responsible for project acquisition, budgeting and project coordination.
Joined A-Power, a sister company of Zeitecs, in January 2011, where he manages the design and development of control systems as well as associated software projects for applications in the oil and gas industry. Prior to his employment with A-Power, he spent five years with the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) of RWTH Aachen University, where he led research projects in the field of downhole power electronic systems for the oil and gas industry. In 2011, he finished his doctoral studies in Electrical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University, which had been focused on the development of control strategies for switched reluctance machine drives with small dc-link capacitance, especially suited for spatially constrained operating conditions.
Joined ZEiTECS in 2009, from Borets-Weatherford where he was a design engineer working on motors, seals, pumps and VSDs. During his time at ZEITECS he has developed test systems for downhole electronics, conducted multiple field tests and designed components for the ESP SHUTTLE. He brings several years of international oilfield experience to the company and holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Joined ZEiTECS in 2013, from Weatherford International, where he worked at the Spencer Road R&D center for seven years—first as a lab technician, then as a Quality Inspector. Prior to that, he worked in other technical trades, including twelve years in the US Navy’s nuclear propulsion program. He is currently working toward completion of a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology through University of Houston.
